Medium Density Fibreboard

The full name of MDF is medium density fibreboard. The name derives from the distinction in density of fibreboard.

MDF is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combing it with wax and a resin binder, and forming it into panels by applying high temperature and pressure.

Plain mdf is just fibreboard without any surface. For furniture, people usually use laminated mdf. For the laminated surfaces, we have Melamine series, Veneer series, UV high glossy series, Acrylic series and PET series.

MDF is ideal for building wall panels, storage units, decorative moldings, and even doors. It is widely used in furniture production, like cabinets and shelves, flooring, decorative projects, speaker boxes, wainscoting, door skin and door frame, coffee table, wardrobe, dinning table, tradeshow booths and theater set construction, etc.
