PHENOLIC PLYWOOD

Plywood comprises a number of veneer layers stacked on top of the other and glued together with an adhesive. The plywood has a top veneer layer and a bottom veneer layer and a first principal strength direction and a second principal strength direction, strength of the plywood being higher in the first principal strength direction than in the second principal strength direction. 25 to 38.4% of the veneer layers are laid such that a grain direction of the veneer(s) in the veneer layers is perpendicular to the first principal strength direction of the plywood and the grain direction of the veneer(s) in at least one veneer layer among three adjacent veneer layers or among three bottom veneer layers is crosswise to the grain direction of the veneer(s) in at least one other veneer layer among the three topmost or three bottom veneer layers.
